Ponytails Banned at Work

Girls -
As I was once told by a woman sitting behind me at my very first job out of college:

"You don't know what it looks like! Take the ponytail down!"

The takeaway? Leave the ponytails at the gym.

Does this apply to all ponytails? No. It's really targeted to short hair with layers. In a shorthaired ponytail, the front of the head looks good, but oh the deception. The back and sides of the head are covered in feathering and drooping layer-chunks, just what you want them not to do.

The Remedy for the Lazy Hair Girl?
Bobby pins. Twist hair into a sloppy bun, and pin with about three bobby pins. If you're good, you can do it in one. But if your hair is short, you'll need at least two. Then for evening, take the bobby pins out, shake your head, and enjoy your new wavy curls.

Or, spray conditioner gunk in it, spread Mop Glisten through it, pin it up on both sides and call that rumpled mess a do!

Allow your 'bangs' fall in a Gwyneth swoop. This gives your highlights a bit more contrast in their one-ness. Otherwise, gym ponytais are very bad for roots, exposing the bottom and sides of the hair in ways they were never intended.

Very instructional! As a short haired girl, this is all good to know.
