Boyfriend Questions Reference to Macy's

Oh no! Boyfriend read this morning's reference to the yuchiness of Macy's where we hunted and gathered golf shirts and shorts for his friend's bachelor party at a golf resort, and became sad! He hoped our up-in-coming shopping experience at Barney's will be better, where we will search for and try on hundreds of jeans until I find the right pair for my birthday (he is so wonderful and thoughtful to want to get me jeans).

I need to say this: shopping with Boyfriend wasn't at all yuchy (he was very cute, letting me pick out exactly 2 shirts while he milled around the racks of choices). It was Macy's itself that was yuchy. And shoppers of Macy's are no reflection of that impression. Many stores have seen yuchy days. We just hit one on a huge shopping day. Urban Outfitters, where we visited earlier, has plenty of yuchy days. The sale racks are a mess! You have to really fend for yourself in there! The only difference is, they don't have a rug to collect stuff. Otherwise...

Let it be known, Bloggerville, that little gems are in every department store. It's the settings that I regret, but the sales that I love! I'm the one who suggested Macy's! I bought my first mattress at Macy's (and sold it on Craig's List for $400 if you can believe it, when Boyfriend moved in). With so many people, how can hangers and discounted shirts be kept off the floor? Is there any way of digging out of this hole? Besides editing my last post? But that would be dishonest, and as a Midwestern girl, I cannot edit. I can only feel guilt, lots of it.

Before I go, just know that I had a lot of time to sit on the side of a manequin base, only inches from the ground, to study men's shoes and hem lengths as I waited for Boyfriend (who needs a better blogger name) to try on piles of Polo and the Penguin kind of shirt. I really studied the wood paneling in Macy's in its attempt to look dignified, compared to the walls of the men's department in Urban Outfitters, which were plastered in Wall Street Journal broadsheets. So my comment was nothing more than an observation. I will go to Macy's any time and buy things if I like them.

Still digging...

Kotie, Kotie, Kotie......

No further explanation needed. mOcy's, as I call it, is a shit-show, pardon my francais. Whenever I go at home, on LI, I cringe at the thought of having to roll up my sleeves and dig through the mounds of madness that is the junior department. ha, sad? yes, but true.

going to mocy's is not a simple affair. it's no express or gap, where everything is neatly organized and aligned, even in size order. But, rather, she's parallel with a Marshalls or a TJ Max... you have to be in that* mood. That mood meaning, in the mood to dig and pick up, and ask for 10% off because of footprints on the back of the cute bedazzled Rampage wife beater.

those are my random, ocd thoughts on Macy's.

an addendum:
i do however, heart mocy's very much. i've gotten many-a-deal on silver jewlery ( bought in bulk during the Sweet 16 parties era). Lucked out with a delish JLO bathing suit 2 years ago ( who knew?) and many others.....

A delish JLO bathing suit! See, you just can't get that ouside of Macy's. Or maybe you can. But the point is, it is what it is. You just have to pick more in Macy's, but it's all there.
