Giveaway: Layer Cake Wine & Personal Wine Shopping/Consultation

NOTE: this wine giveaway has ended....see who the winners were.

YUM.
Here it is: the dual wine giveaway! The winner will get a bottle of Layer Cake Wine, courtesy of Vintage Point, Napa's hippest new wine boutique, and a wine consultation or shopping experience with New York's savviest wine expert, Anu Karwa, owner of Swirl Events (can be telephone, so you can be from anywhere). Here's what you're vying for, and here is how to enter:

BOTTLE OF LAYER CAKE from VINTAGE POINT
Layer Cake MalbecLayer Cake is the most delicious wine ever. Inspired by chocolate cake baked by the founder's grandparents, Layer Cake is taking wine drinkers by storm. In the words of the creator's Grandfather: "The vines," he would say, "lived in layers of soil just like the layers in Grandma’s cake; each layer bringing a different flavor." He explained the flavors and smells of the wine in a similar way, always comparing them to the layer cake sitting on the kitchen counter.

Layer Cake is represented by Vintage Point, which offers services to wineries in sales, marketing, importation and general management. Vintage Point is independently owned and exclusively focuses on winery brand and market development within the US, Canada and Caribbean marketplace in the ultra-premium and luxury price points. Their mission is to help these producers overcome the barriers they face in getting their wines to market.

Win a bottle of Layer Cake, and have it shipped to you to enjoy on a Friday or Saturday evening in the new dusk of spring. If Napa Valley is feeling generous, there may even be TWO winners of Layer Cake.

TO ENTER: Go to the shopping destination for Vintage Point and report back to FashionMista via the Comments below which wine that Vintage Point represents would you like to drink right now (if it's morning time when you're reading this, then think of this evening).

To answer the layer cake question, I would definitely zero in on the Patianna Organic wine of all the Vintage Point brands. The organic part is a no brainer and the description of their practices makes me think of something I heard Michael Pollan describing on NPR. I think biodynamic farming is fascinating and I would love to discuss it over a nice bottle of Syrah. Or anything, really. Who am I kidding? I'll drink anything!

The Perez Hilton-esque wine review is hilarious!

That soul comes from the vineyard and the winemaker's hands.

Luna Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

and Layer Cake Malbed.

I would like to try the Patianna Organic as well. I am new to wine but as I try to live greener this would be a great place to start!

I like trying different Shiraz/Syrahs. The Layer Cake Shiraz, I just heard described as "really like chocolate and cheesecake". Most Shiraz has a spiciness that goes great with food. This sounds quite interesting. I'd love a bottle.

I'd like to try the Winter cabernet and I agree - the Perez Hilton review was one of the funniest :)

I like the Stonecap wine- I love their historic info. in the description, the history of the family and I love their logo/design and type face.

I like the Kelly Ripa write-up because I think it's accurate and well-written!

I love the freakout philosophy of winemaking! (Plus the name is pretty kickass too.) I'd love to try the Ribolla Gialla; that's one I've not heard of before.

But, really, I agree with Kelly: I'd gladly drink any of 'em! :)

since I got a taste of springtime this weekend, I am feelin' the Pazo San Mauro AlbariƱo, Cameron Diaz: “Livens up your springtime picnic” review! And on that note, a nice Goose Ridge Pinot Gris might hit the spot right about now...

Hundred Acre!

As Pooh says, “If you want to make a song more hummy, add a few tiddely poms.”

I would add to that, "add some wine!"

Being the Zinfandel fan that I am, the wine I would drink right now would have to be the Ottimino Zinfandel. Good luck to all! :)

What a small world! I'm doing some research on Layer Cake Wines and Anu Karwa is a friend of mine too! Anu just wrote a segment on wine and food pairing for my cookbook.
